Sonic Mania originally launched in 2017, and by all accounts, it was a great success for Sega and the Sonic s largest franchise. The game finally not only recovered the classic game style in 2D that the original Sonic The Hedgehog Games established for the first time in the 1990s, but sonic mania alone was erected as one of the rather received Sonic titles Never created. As such, several fans assumed that Sega and developer Evening Star Studios, which is composed of developers who worked mainly in the game, would end up throwing a follow-up at some time in the future. Unfortunately, according to the new information that has been disclosed by a well-connected source, it seems that sonic mania 2 instead of that, it is possible that it never happens.
In a recent blog by a knower of the videogame industry that is known as Zippo, it was said that Sega had ruled out the plans for a sonic mania, internally in the years since the launch of the first game. Zippo explained that the reason for this seems to have been due to a shock of some kind between Sega and Evening Star Studios. The blog in question did not come into too many details about what happened here, but it did declared that Sega of America was the Sega division that turned out to be the problem. Zippo said that Sega of America s management was extremely unreasonable , which caused a rupture between the editor and Evening Star.
During the last month, Evening Star has become revealing that is now working on a 3D action platform game , which confirms that the study is likely to be doing sonic mania 2 at this point in time . And although it is possible that we never know all the details about what happened between those of Sega and Evening Star, it is absolutely an annoyance that the two entities will apparently not return to work together in the quiet sequel.
What do you think about how potentially you will never see a sequel to sonic mania, what? Do you think Sega should try to rectify this situation and find a way to collaborate with Evening Star one more time? Let me know your thoughts and reaction in the comments or on Twitter in @ mooreman12.
