Metroid Dread (or simply Dread) is a two-dimensional lateral scroll adventure video game of the Metroid series developed by Mercury Steam and edited by Nintendo, released on October 8, 2021 on Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth episode of the main Metroid series and the direct suite of fusion out on Game Boy Advance in 2002. The game is initially developed by Nintendo for an output on the Nintendo DS portable console. It is discovered for the first time in 2005 on an official internal list of games, written by Nintendo, and supposed to be revealed to the Electronic Entertainment Expo of 2005, or even in 2006. However, it is never revealed during these conventions, And is the only title of this list to never have been. The flagship designer of the Metroid series, Yoshio Sakamoto, questioned about the Metroid Dread project and its scenario, confirms in 2010 that it has existed at a certain time. He specifies that if the development of it had to be resumed, it would be started again from scratch. At the E3 2021, Nintendo finally unveils the revival of the game for an output on Nintendo Switch. The development is entrusted to Mercurysteam, who had impressed Yoshio Sakamoto by his work on the remake metroid: Samus Returns released in 2017 on Nintendo 3DS.
At the beginning of October, Metroid Dread appeared a new part of the known series for the Nintendo Switch. Now a demo has also been published, which can download all players for free to try the game.
Metroid Dread: Nintendo releases free demo
Many players thought before the release that Metroid Dread is only a gap lust, which should shorten the waiting time on Metroid 4. But since the publication we know that this is wrong. For us Metroid Dread is the Nintendo comeback of the year and a real recommendation for all switch players.
If our judgment is insufficient, you can recently also make your own picture of the new Nintendo-Game - and for free. Since today, a demo has been available in the Nintendo eShop, which can download, install and play all Switch users for free (Source: Nintendo eShop).

A look at Metakritic shows: Metroid Dread is not only popular with the critics (Metascore: 88) But is also very praised by the players (user score: 8.8 out of 10 points). (Source: Metacritic)
Especially fans of the old metroid games come to their expense in the new 2D offshoot, on the other hand, however, newcomers could do it hard - because the game takes no consideration of you. Especially the boss fights are sometimes crisp out.
Even when exploring the game world, Metroid Dread rather sets the old school. Flashing markings or visual clues are not available - instead you have to look your own way through the sections and sometimes discovers one or the other secret.
And if you do not know further, we like to attack you under my arms:
Who is not sure if that s right, can download the demo and play a bit. In this way, you can quickly find out if the purchase of the game is worth it, or you can omit this Nintendo title.
